Albertson Trees can
supply and install a wide variety of 4" to 12"
caliper nursery trees, or move an existing tree on
your site. As landscape investment counselors, we
emphasize the wise use, care and maintenance of
trees.
We move trees and shrubs during all seasons. The
best time to do transplant work is during a plant's
dormancy, and the least favorable time is while the
plant is in the full flush of new growth. The season
and weather will determine the size of tree that can
be transplanted successfully.
How much
does it cost to transplant trees and shrubs?
Typically the cost of moving a large tree reflects
factors that bear on risk, difficulty, terrain,
location of utilities, and access. Cost is also
determined by whether you have many trees, a few
trees or only one to move. Ordinarily the process of
moving a heavy piece of construction equipment to a
jobsite involves a minimum fee. Since each
transplant job is unique and involves different
circumstances, the minimum fee varies.
The cost of moving trees thirty feet tall with a 90"
tree spade can range from hundreds to several
thousand dollars. You can assume that the
cost-per-tree to transplant 5 trees will be less
than the cost of moving only one. Call Albertson
Trees for an estimate.
Will
transplanted trees survive?
As professionals, we tell our clients what is
horticulturally correct, not necessarily what they
want to hear. Survival depends on (1) how much root
system is lost, (2) how site conditions change, (3)
how much the plant is disturbed, (4) the season and
weather, (5) species and (6) post-transplant care.
We will tell you if transplantation is unwise.
Will heavy
equipment damage my lawn?
Where lawn is more precious than trees, we advise
foregoing transplant work. In most cases,
disturbance is minimal, or the lawn can be
protected.
What
services am I paying for when you move my trees or
shrubs?
You pay for relocation of the tree or shrub to its
new home and treatment with bio-stimulants. All
custom pruning and required finish landscaping work
is an additional expense.
What if I'm
moving and want to bring a tree with me to my new
site?
We can arrange it. Off-site transplant work is more
complicated and thus more expensive than on-site
work.
